Playing in the Waves

On Monday of Labor Day weekend we went looking for a good beach to play at. We checked out several others but the waves were too big for the kids to safely play in the water. We finally decided on what we call the Big Sandy. It's located right befroe the big read bridge out to Ikei Island. This is a huge stretch of sandy beach that goes out at least 400 yards before it gets any deeper than about 2 feet. It's great for the kids and safe to play in almost any time. The kite surfers were enjoying it too. There were 4 or 5 of them surfing along and it was fun to watch them doing flips and such. As you can see from the pictures and videos below the kids had a blast playing in the sand and the water.
